Magazine Columnist launches her own magazine business after investing in others for five years

Someone believed in me and because somebody believed in me, I now choose to believe in others.

I am the Robin Shockley, visionary founder of S.W.I.F.T. Magazine. An international brand that gives women and men and opportunity to share their true to life stories, self-defense techniques, recipes fashion, and beauty tips.

This magazine is for all backgrounds, all cultures, and all genders to contribute. We have 20 plus amazing writers from all over the country contributing their input of opinions and thoughts to help motivate and inspire the single woman in focus today. 

Each year we recognize our team at the Unity Networking & Awards events where we launched the first issue. Certificates and copies of the magazine were given out.

The Vision for this magazine is so big and though the intentions are not to stay single in my personal life, the magazine will continue for years to come and grow to help give all women & men the opportunities to grow their dreams with writing and through reading the stories of the writers.

I started writing poetry when I was in seventh grade. I still have that manila folder filled with handwritten poetry from middle school and in high school. Funny thing is I quit journalism class in the ninth grade because I didn’t feel confident that I fit in the class with the smart people.

Little did I know that one day my insecurities would turn into confidence. And then I would build an Empire to help expand others to follow their passion and dreams of writing their stories. I have been asked to be featured on television in magazines and speak at conferences on behalf of the Vision for Women empowerment. All this is wonderful because you’re sharing your message and my message simply is this;

“Be unapologetically you! Don’t let the intimidation of someone else’s fear to succeed and interrupt your path to success. I served my way up to get in the position that I am in today.

Vision:

The magazine is geared toward “Single women in focus today”. The Magazine has various topics that our contributing writers discuss; how you choose to be single, how you were single at one time and now you have a successful relationship or how you have to face obstacles of being single and the challenges of being single and the positiveness of Being single.

WHY?

God birthed this vision in me in 2022 while traveling on the highway, after writing for multiple magazines for five years being a single woman after 28 years of marriage. I know what it’s like to struggle, rebuild and live single. On my 51st birthday, May 2022, I made an announcement publicly that the magazine now existed to help motivate & inspire single women that there is still purpose in being single. And here we are several years later. We have single men and women who are contributing writers for the magazine and married men and women who want to share their input to be helpful for the single woman in focus today.

Who knew that God could take my pit situations and turn them into purpose blessings. And it all started with me “telling a story” on social media many years ago when viewers saw my writings.

Before I launched my very own S.W.I.F.T. Magazine, I SERVED writing for 5 years with various other magazines as well as being featured in countless ones that I can’t even remember 👀 from inside the USA and even in India! 

Now I’m giving men and women opportunities to expand their gifts with a platform to write. 

The first issue is myself on the cover. And going forward with each issue the cover page will be someone of a true identity who represents the "Single woman in focus today”.

“Impacting one generation to another by the positive seeds we sow today” is part of my life statement and I’m grateful God gave me the gift to write so I can help others do so too.

I am forever grateful for the opportunities as they ALL  helped me get to where I am. Never underestimate the power of sowing  and investing. Now I have a huge writing team of men & women from around the country who support this new vision.  

And we are just beginning! 

I didn’t get paid to write the stories and I didn’t get paid to promote the magazines from when I first started out. It took me five years before I received my first payment. My mission is to build something so great that I not only pay commission to my referral connects, but I one day can pay my writers too!!

I always say anything worth having is an investment. And Lord knows I have made my investments! I have given out thousand over the years, supporting people in the forefront as well in the background. I have spent countless community service hours being passionate about what I love.

God has given me a clear vision to see the new Destiny for What His purpose is in my life.

I have been called to minister to women. I’ve been called to witness to women. I have been called to serve women. I have been called to defend women. I have been called to coach women. I have been called to train women. I have been called to lead women. And most importantly, I have been called to be the trailblazer for women.

I do not take this mantle lightly that God has placed on my life . I didn’t realize the value of it until recently as I was becoming her by letting go of the old. Every piece of the journey is a part of the story. And this is just a small section of who I am and what I do to represent single women in focus today.
